We
all love our nation don’t we? On the top of that we are diehard fans of cricket
and are always in hopes of our team winning when they are playing against our
competitors. As we have the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup fresh in our minds lets
delve into that a little bit and know more about it. What do we know about the
ICC T20 Cricket World Cup? Let me give you some details that will broaden your perspectives.
Since the start of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2015, Pakistan has played
around 18 ODIS in total out of which it has lost nine and won eight of them.
That’s quite an achievement. However, Pakistan ranking in ICC was not that
good. They won one match and that was against Bangladesh. Pakistan lost its
last match against Australia after which its journey ended in the tournament.
Now,
you might be wondering why I am giving you all of this information about
Pakistan Ranking in ICC T20. Why is this information so important? As a matter
of fact, if we talk about statistics then Pakistan ranks at the third rank on
the ICC Test Championship Charts, ranks ninth on the ICC ODI Championship and
seventh on the ICC Twenty20 Championship. Now on the contrary, the question
arises that; after achieving high ranking in the ICC, will Pakistan perform the
same in England too? We all know that the series between Pakistan and England
are just around the corner and we all are hoping that Pakistan performs well in
those series, once again to restore their name in the Cricket World.
The
series are scheduled to begin on Thursday on July 14th 2016 in
England. They will commence after two friendly matches of Pakistan against Somerset
and Sussex teams. These are the cricket schedules which were announced by ECB
and PCB. The tour is scheduled for two whole months in the summer of 2016. The
match schedule includes ten matches in total which consists of four matches of
Test Series, five matches of ODI Series and one match of T20. If we look into
the matches which were played last year between Pakistan and England; three
matches were drawn, one was tied, and three were won by Pakistan and seven were
won by England.
Least to say that, the performance of Pakistan
was not below average, however; they need to pick up the pace and perform
better in order to win more matches this summer against England. To put in into
a nutshell, an average performance cannot lead towards victory. The question
still remains that if Pakistan ranking in ICC was good, will it perform the
same in England? This question does not have clear cut answer, it can also be
clearly judged after the first match. However, by the looks of our cricket
team, we can say that they are performing well and are going to do better in
the series if they stay consistent with the performance.
